Lo stu

Lo stu is a card game of ancient origins that has largely died out in present days.  Remnants exist in three unconnected locations in Europe.  Each is rural and primarily agricultural in nature.  They include some farming villages in Denmark, some isolated spots near the city of Bergamo in norhtern Italy, and Montorio al Vomano.   The game is place deck of 20 cards.  

In December 2008 the town held a celebration involving a living “stu”, that is the townspeople took the roles of the various cards thats were being played.  The event took place in the large town square, Piazza Orsini.
